As I mentioned several months ago(http://windcat.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!2A7F71AFB672B240!411.entry), I think we can patch geo-information to photos without attaching a GPS to the camera like what Nikon's high-end DSLRs do. Today I find a product with the similar idea from Sony, GPS-CS1. Here is a short introduction http://www.gpsreview.net/sony-gps-cs1/. Unfortunately the in-pack software only can be used with Sony camera products. However Breeze System has announced an update of its famous Downloader Pro http://www.breezesys.com/Downloader/index.htm and the new version can support geo-information captured by Sony GPS-CS1.

 

Modification: There are two in-pack softwares with this product. One of them do not force users have a Sony camera.

I read a post about the defence from PayPerPost from slashdot this morning. This is an interesting company, whose idea makes my head refreshed. The basic creativity is to put adverticement into each post of blogs and there are two kind of basic characters in its self-service system, namely advertiser and blogger. The former provides opportunitie with payment whilst the latter finds the most suitable opportunities for its blog, post them, make them reviewed by the company and earn money. Though there is cash behind each opportunity, whether to make a ad is up to the blog ownners themselves. For a advertiser, not only the brand name he want to spread will become well-known, his site will also gain many back links to increase its PageRank, making it popular with the help of search engines.

This idea shocked my head since I had been too stupid to think of making an advertisement into blog posts except those from blog providers. It's said there is a rival against this company, named ReviewMyPost, but I can find few information about it.

This pattern would be a new considerable challenge for search engine developers, since usually posts on blogs are considered as creditable content, which is made under writers' own mind, thus links in a post would get more credibility.

Following the famous Chinese Internet law of copying ideas from foreign sites, I believe this kind of sites will appeal in China sooner or later, although online payment is not perfect enough here. I also think Chinese bloggers would prefer automatic advertisemens rather than selecting by themselves.
